Granada - Alhama - Anarquía -Antequera - El Chorro - Ronda - Jimena de la Frontera - Tarifa
ROUTE OF THE ALMORAVIDS: An unforgettable journey in space and time, in constant touch with Andalusia’s landscapes and culture, with its diversity and spirit… riding in reverse the route once taken by warriors monks of the north African desert… along the frontier of the last surviving kingdom of Moorish al-Andalus: the kingdom of Granada.
Setting out from Granada and following a constant south-westerly direction, you will ride through various mountainous regions, crossing age-old passes. These are the mountains of Almijara, Antequera, Libar, Alcornocales, and finally Cabrito. You will finish in Tarifa, the wind capital of Spain, with the mighty Atlantic Ocean at your feet.
Granada, the Alhambra and the city's meadow, the Alhama mountains, the picturesque Axarquia region, Antequera and its stunning Torcal mountain, the El Chorro gorge, the Ronda mountains, the Cortes Nature Reserve, the Alcornocales mountains, the magnificent views out to Africa from Tarifa…these are just some of the places, peoples and pleasures that you will discover as you ride the ancient trails of Andalusia. They all come together to form the backdrop for an unique experience.

Route: Day 1: Arrival to Granada Día 2: Granada-Alhama de Granada 58 km Día 3: Alhama - Axarquía 32 km Día 4: Axarquía - Antequera 54 km Día 5: Antequera - El chorro 34 km Día 6: El Chorro - Ronda 58 km Día 7: Resting in Ronda Día 8: Ronda - Jimena de la Frontera 69 km Día 9: Jimena de la Frontera - Tarifa 50 km (a part of the route by train) Día 10: Resting in Tarifa and return through Algeciras
Optional services: Quality mountain bike renting; additional nights in Ronda (available for the 7-day option) and Tarifa (10-day option); single room suplement; tickets to the Alhambra / Flamenco show in Ronda. You can also be you own guide, according to your preferentes, taking 7 days and ending in Ronda; or taking 10 days and ending in Tarifa, both options in any season (spring and autum recommended). This options include accommodation and breakfast, map and route description, and travel insurance (other services, like luggage transport, are optional).
