Tastefully renovated courtyard house on three floors, sleeping up to 6. Dominated by its castle and the twisting narrow streets, the white-washed houses and the profusion of flower-covered doorsteps and balconies, give Gaucin a distinctly Moorish flavour. From the lounge and terrace there are spectacular views down to the Mediterranean and on clear days Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains of Africa.

Accommodation
BedroomsFirst floor double master bedroom with washbasin and storage/dressing area. This room can convert to twin beds if preferred. Ground floor double bedroom with ensuite shower room. Small downstairs lounge doubles as a third bedroom with double sofa bed. There is a single fold up bed if required.
BathroomsThe downstairs ensuite shower room has wash basin, wc and shower. The first floor main shower room has washbasin, wc, bidet and shower.
KitchenThe well equipped kitchen has a gas cooker including oven and grill, fridge/freezer, microwave, full range of cooking pots and utensils and rustic table and chairs.
Living roomsThe delightful spacious first floor lounge has comfortable sofas, dining area with table and chairs, wood fire, and Hi Fi/CD player. A small balcony looks out across the village with views down the valley to the coast. The small, characterful downstairs lounge has a double sofa bed, a further sofa and coffee table.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid serviceAll linen and towels are provided except beach towels.
Notes on accommodation
For low season lets there are gas heaters and a wood fire. Gas and electricity is included in the price as is wood for the first night - extra wood can be purchased locally.

The superb roof terrace has spectacular views of the village, surrounding counrtyside down to the coast and on clear days Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Africa.There is a range of terrace furniture including table and chairs, sunbeds and BBQ. The entrance hall leads onto a cool, flower filled courtyard with furniture. Both the kitchen and ground floor bedroom are accessed via the courtyard.
Coast/Beach
35 minutes to coast and nearest beach (18 miles). There is a large, attractive village pool 2 minutes walk from the house open during high season.
Travel
The main airport is Malaga at 1.5 hours drive with easy access and car hire facilities. Gibraltar is nearer at 1 hour with car hire available from Gibraltar or just over the border in La Linea. Transport to and from either airport can be arranged at special rates for those wanting a relaxing car-free holiday. Also day-trips to Ronda, Seville etc are available. For those wishing to spend more time exploring inland car hire is recommended.

Further details
Casa San Isidoro is situated in Gaucin on the southern edge of the Sierrania de Ronda and is one of the most attractive Pueblos Blancos in Andalucia. Gaucin village contains several small friendly supermarkets, two banks, a medical centre, a range of restaurants and tapas bars, a pleasant swimming pool and tennis courts and ruined castle. The village is surrounded by some of the most splendid mountain scenery and national parks in Andalucia. It is ideally located for a range of outdoor pursuits and activities, particularly birdwatching, golf and watersports. Gaucin is centrally placed for the major Moorish towns of Ronda, Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada and with Morocco just 45minutes by hyro-foil from Tarifa. Alternatively, of course, you can stay locally, relax, soak up the village atmosphere, or just sunbathe! The area is ideal for painting, sketching and photography and for the more energetic; rambling, mountain walking, climbing and horse-riding. Both freshwater and sea fishing are readily available. Windsurfing in all its forms is centred on Tarifa. Safe family bathing is available at the local resorts of Sabinillias, Duquesa and Estepona, 30 ?? 40 minutes away and as well the local rivers and Roman sulphur baths nearby.
