This charming restored rural cottage with two new wings added sits on a rocky hillside above a working farm in the beautiful Guadiaro river valley. It is surrounded by terraces and a colourful garden with a private pool. It is named after the little owls which nest in the garden. From every window there are splendid views over the valley to the village of Gaucin, the Ronda mountains and the Sierras of Crestellina and Bermeja. In spring the surrounding countryside is rich in wild flowers. The area is a very beautiful one close to the cork-oak clad Alcornocales Park and to many towns and sites of historical and archaeological interest. An ideal centre for exploring.

The nearest beach is at Sotogrande half an hour distant but the best beaches are the Atlantic beaches and hour away.
Nearest airports are Gibraltar (1 hour), Malaga (2 hours), Jerez (2 hours). The use of a car is essential
Jimena de la Frontera is a quarter of an hour distant, Gaucin, twenty minutes, Ronda and hour, Gibraltar and hour and within a days drive to many other towns and sites of historical, architectural and archaeological interest. The area is a very beautiful one for exploring, botanising, bird watching, walking etc. The Hozgarganta river with its wonderful bathing pools is rated
the cleanest river in Spain and has its own peculiar flora and fauna including otter, genet and a fresh water jelly fish. Wild peonies grow in the mountains and fields of narcissus in the valleys. The Guadiaro valley is noted for its sitings of raptors.
Jimena has three banks, several small supermarkets, good shops, a weekly market and excellent restaurants and the same applies to Gaucin. It is within half an hour of coastal hypermarkets. There are tennis courts available locally, several riding establishments and go-karting. Golfing, sailing, deep-sea fishing and even ballooning and flying can be had not far off.
