Charming dry-stone wall two-double bedroomed cottage with swimming-pool, situated 4,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and set in 5 acres of terraced land. Snow-capped mountains above and magnificent views of valleys below. The cottage has a large covered verandah, slate tiled floors throughout, beams & an open fireplace. It is simply and stylishly furnished. The outdoor swimming-pool is built in natural stone & tiled with mosaic.

Accommodation
BedroomsTwo double bedrooms. A single bed is available in addition to the double in the second bedroom.
BathroomsThe main bedroom has an adjacent bathroom/shower and the second bedroom has an ensuite toilet and basin.

Living roomsOpen plan kitchen/sitting-room, seats 6, with open/closed wood burning stove.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid serviceTowels and linen are provided, guests are requested to bring their own swimming-pool towels.
Notes on accommodation
There are two lawns, one adjacent to the pool and the other below the cottage. The cottage is run on solar power, and has a natural spring for it's water supply. Books are available to read and wood is supplied during the winter months (cost additional - see below)

Outside
The cottage has a swimming pool (plunge pool approx 18' long) situated in an enclosed rose arbour, a large covered terrace, gardens and parking, as well as five acres of secluded land surrounding it.
Coast/Beach
The coast is approx 1 hour's drive due south. There are many good coastal areas east to west from Almerimar and Roquetas del Mar to Nerja. Almerimar and Roquetas are approx 1 hour 20 mins and Nerja nearer 2 hours. For golf enthusiasts there are some good courses located on the coast. During the winter months, simple skiing including cross country is located at the Puerta de la Ragua, approximately 25 mintues from the cottage. The biggest resort is Sol y Nieve in Granada, which is 1 hour 40 minutes drive. Sledging with huskies and horse riding is also available at the Puerta de la Ragua.
Travel
Almeria airport is 1 1/2 hour's and Malaga 2 hours 40 minutes drive. Both airports offer daily flights from the UK with Easyjet or Ryanair. Scheduled flights are available to Granada Airport which is 1 hour 45 minutes drive.
Distances
The nearest village of Laroles is 10 minutes drive which has a decent supermarket and bakery and the town of Ugijar 30 minutes drive for all other shopping. The historical town of Granada where the Alhambra is located is 1.5 hour's drive.
Further details
The Sierra Nevada is a walker's and bird watcher's paradise - the cottage is ideally placed at 4,000 for walking in the High Sierras. It provides ample tranquillity for guests wishing to enjoy seclusion and peace away from the usual day to day stresses! The only sounds guests are likely to encounter are the goat bells from the local herd which pass by the cottage each day
